Momence Packing Company Maintenance Team Lead 2nd Shift Schedule: 5:00pm to 5:00am, Rotating Shift (Overtime as production demands) Position Overview The Maintenance Team Leader will lead the Maintenance Team in Johnsonville's journey to becoming the best company in the world that just so happens to make sausage. They will lead and assist with Implementing Johnsonville's Reliability Excellence Program, initiate preventative maintenance strategies, Coordinate maintenance repairs, troubleshoot all plant and utility equipment, and help develop our members to achieve our vision of being a best-in-class maintenance organization. Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Shift Leader:
Drive, Lead, and maintain reliability efforts as they relate to equipment and processes.
Ensure effective communication with all maintenance leads, Planner, MRO, and Maintenance Coordinator to plan, schedule, and complete any needed work.
Act as a point of contact for the maintenance team and facility during 2nd shift operations.
Set work priorities and assign work to Maintenance Members on 2ndshift daily.
Create an atmosphere of innovation and problem-solving within the Team.
As a Coach/Mentor:
Train/teach/assist Maintenance Members with preventive and corrective maintenance of all plant equipment.
Lead the 2ndshift Maintenance team and assume responsibility for departmental operations on 2ndshift.
Lead and coach the Maintenance Team through proper training and development efforts.
Assist in the development of Maintenance Members as they progress through the skills blocks.
Work with members to develop and maintain Personal Development Commitments
Ensure constant communication around alignment to departmental vision and goals.
Develop ongoing relationships with operations, sanitation and leadership.
As a Technician:
Maintain and improve equipment to produce world class Uptime.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on all plant equipment and some utility equipment.
Research parts needed for work/repairs and properly utilize the Parts Inventory and Work Order systems.
Responsible for completing their own maintenance work at a best practice level.
Completion of project work as needed or required.
All other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated experience/ability to coach and mentor others to higher levels of responsibility/skills.
Minimum 2 years' experience in industrial maintenance or related field with demonstrated skills in electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
PLC's experience and/or skills are desirable.
Be knowledgeable in plant systems to effectively provide direction to the team on required work.
Available to work overtime (end of shift and weekends) as scheduled.
Candidate should be teamwork oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP are strongly preferred.

Must be willing to work in varying temperatures, both cold and warm conditions
Member must be able to lift 15 to 85 pounds, carry and push 5 to 85 pounds approximately.
Physical demands for this position require walking or standing most of the time.
