Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Operates a company truck to ship cargo to and from specified destinations. Loads and unloads truck, collects payments for goods delivered, and maintains physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage. Operates auxiliary equipment mounted on truck such as winches, hydraulic hoists, derricks. Changes tires and makes minor truck repairs when necessary. Utilizing a SRNA commercial tractor/trailer vehicle is responsible for the day-to-day delivery expectations of SRNA customers through OTR and local deliveries (approximately 2 day/1 night run OTR), and assists customers in unloading trailer at delivery location.

PRINCIPAL TASKS

1. Operate a commercial vehicle (10 speed ultra-shift or 10 speed automatic). Operate Doubles (2-28 trailers plus Con Gear) including connecting and disconnecting gear. Operate 53, 48 and 28 dry vans. Ensure all customer orders are delivered on time and all government regulations are adhered to regarding paperwork and inspections of vehicles. Perform over-the-road (OTR) and local delivers. Drop and hook occasionally. Complete Driver Log Book daily and turn in daily if local driving and at the end of each OTR assignment.
2. Ensure customer orders are delivered with driver assist unloading as required by customer. Deliver customer orders on time with accurate paperwork. Load/unload tires manually (as many as 1,700), and pick orders as assigned. Transport trailers safely and in a very busy working environment.
3. Organize warehouse yard between inbound/receiving doors and outbound trailers/shipping doors. Move contains in yard to designed locations. Move loaded and unloaded trailers on property between shipping and receiving doors.
4. Communicate effectively and efficiently with shift supervisors for shipping and receiving. Report any issues or customer complaints or comments immediately to Warehouse Manager. Communicate professionally and courteously to all customers.
5. Responsible for any other additional duties as assigned by Management.

MAJOR CHALLENGES
1. Must possess a valid Class A Commercial drivers license and know how to drive a tractor/trailer vehicle.
2. Must be able to enter and exit dry van trailer while performing necessary duties.
3. Must be able to work night and day shifts.
4. Must know how to chain a Commercial vehicle.
5. Must be able to drive in inclement weather conditions, including snow, rain and wind.
6. Must be able to build on a culture of respect, professionalism, and integrity.
7. Respond to multiple and often shifting priorities with a strong sense of urgency and professionalism.

SCOPE OF AUTHORITY AND INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS
1. Frequent contact with vendors and customers. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written in a professional manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE: One two (1 2) years experience driving a commercial tractor/trailer vehicle OTR and have doubles endorsements.

ACADEMIC/TRAINING: A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and certification from an accredited Truck Driving School.

SKILLS: Ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be detail oriented and well organized. Must possess a clean driving record (no more than 2 points), possess ability to fill out Drivers Log Book and be available for night and day shifts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to drive, see, hear, move, stand, walk, sit, reach, crawl, crouch and have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment includes all weather conditions, and the majority of the environment is in a tractor trailer truck, van, or any other commercial type vehicle, with a strong smell of tires.
