Review and authorize purchases by negotiating supplier price reductions, analyzing price increases, resolving price discrepancies and overseeing vendor consolidations and consolidation center moves. Manage assigned vendors and product categories to align to Healthcare Kitting requirements.
Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers.
Manage and secure cost reductions by working with suppliers on price and potential product development.
Analyze supplier price increase submittals and net against rebates for total impact to the division. Submit results to department management for possible negotiations.
Be the subject matter expert on assigned categories and cost inputs to manufacturing partners.
Respond to and resolve any accounting issues resulting from price discrepancies and over bills. Escalate issues that have been identified by the AP specialist and submitted to the established Medline representative.
Obtain sample reimbursements and credits.
Resolve supplier quality issues. Calculate debits for replacement products with Quality Department assistance.
Assist in the creation and implementation of a global sourcing strategy to drive vendor execution and market strategies for vendor allocation optimization and risk mitigation, re-sourcing and cost containment/reductions for assigned categories.
Discover new cost-savings opportunities to drive GM growth within product category and identify and implement Medline branded opportunities and negotiate long term deals with suppliers both import and domestic.
Work collaboratively with Medline Shanghai, Supply Chain, Quality and Product Management teams to maintain and develop vendors and products to reduce supply risk and ensure a healthy supply chain.

Education
Bachelor's degree.
Relevant Work Experience
Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices and reconciling differences.
Experienced in documenting procedures and internal controls.
At least 2 years of directly related industry experience.
Additional
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
