SUMMARY:
The ELL Paraprofessional works specifically with English Language Learner (ELL) students providing intensive intervention in the areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The focus is to provide supplemental instructional to ELL students to increase language proficiency levels. The goal is to ensure that students are able to increase and/or meet state ELL proficiency levels.

Nine-month, full-time, Exempt position
Reports directly to the Principal
2024-2025 School Year

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist English Language Learners to increase demonstration of English proficiency, using knowledge and expertise in English Language Proficiency (ELP) standards, Structured English Immersion (SEI) models, systematic reading instruction, and using assessment data to guide instruction.Help Principal to effectively implement SEI strategies, utilize supplementary materials, and effectively implements intervention programs.Assist in the design of effective intervention lessons.Progress monitoring using EL benchmark tests and assists with EL placement and reassessment testing.Assist with EL documentation.Performs any other duties as assigned.
