We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to support our cash receipt processes. This position will ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, handling of electronic and check deposits, overseeing accounts receivable communications, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Moreover, this role will address payment issues, keep detailed records, and assist in monthly financial closures. Your contributions will have a direct impact on enhancing our financial precision and efficiency.

 What you will be responsible for:



  • Process transactions and payments within various accounting systems.



  • Capture remote deposits of live checks and process lockbox and electronic deposits.

  • Monitor the accounts receivable inbox and phone queue.

  • Provide support for program areas within the college.

  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies and issues with receipts.

  • Maintain tracking systems.

  • Reconciles accounting ledgers with various systems.

  • Support monthly closing and producing applicable reports.

You possess the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred

  • 3+ years AR experience in a corporate environment

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven aptitude for systems; intermediate Excel skills

  • Experience with mid-market/enterprise systems

This position will work on a Hybrid schedule, coming into the Reston, VA, office twice a week (typically Mondays & Thursdays, subject to change).  When working remotely, you must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management skills, and be highly organized in an environment where shifting priorities are the norm.  A reliable internet connection is a must!
