Financial Master Data Management Advisor

Description

The Financial Master Data Management Advisor resides within the Finance Enablement team and is responsible for managing and governing financial master data, including the Enterprise Chart of Accounts. You would bring your Finance and Accounting, process, and data expertise to maintaining these values and structures. You would also bring your design and systems expertise to a multi-year Oracle cloud implementation project.

The Finance Enablement team functions as a Center of Excellence providing business support for Accounting and Finance master data, systems, analytics and reporting. The team serves and collaborates with a broad matrix of business partners across Cigna and Evernorth, domestic and international.

Responsibilities


  • Support monthly and quarterly production activities, particularly Accounting and Finance metadata and hierarchy maintenance, ensuring accuracy of financial rollups and reporting

  • Responsible for the continued maintenance of the Chart of Accounts and Finance metadata (and associated mapping) in response to business requests, applying an Enterprise mindset and knowledge of the downstream consuming applications

  • Maintain documentation, including updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Adhere to and enforce Chart of Accounts governance procedures and processes; facilitate governance meetings; support the business though governance requests

  • Maintain monthly and quarterly documentation and communication related to master data

  • Provide and coordinate audit evidence for the domestic and international Chart of Accounts

  • Leverage business and data acumen to troubleshoot production issues and help with ad hoc requests

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and IT developers on small enhancement requests. Translate business requirements to design. Support testing and implementation

  • Collaborate with peers and support a culture of learning and cross-training

  • Support the Finance Cloud Enablement team in migrating from Oracle on-prem to Oracle cloud applications, including the transition to a new Chart of Accounts

Qualifications


  • Experience with Chart of Accounts master and metadata (values, properties, parenting, hierarchies/rollups) in financial applications (e.g. general ledger, planning, reporting)

  • Experience in Oracle Data Relationship Management (DRM) and/or Oracle Enterprise Data Management (EDM) preferred

  • Experience with other Oracle and Hyperion systems a plus

  • Familiarity with Healthcare, Accounting and Financial concepts

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Attention to detail and accuracy critical

  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines with a sense of urgency

  • Highly developed organizational and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies

  • Proven ability to:

    • Deliver excellent customer service

    • Foster collaboration, value other perspectives, gain support and buy-in

    • Successfully engage the right individuals to achieve goals

    • Work comfortably with management and functional leaders, enforcing procedures when necessary
