Job Description:

Manages operations and assumes accountability for the overall performance of the Revenue Cycle throughout the organization, including functions performed by Revenue Integrity, Patient Access, and Health Information Management departments.Direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for Revenue Cycle, including provider enrollment, claims, payments, credit balance, insurance reimbursement, and self-pay management.Provide leadership and guidance in the area of Patient Financial Services, Health Information Management and Patient Access in order to meet the expected level of performance.Partner with and work closely with hospitals third-party billing and coding provider to hold accountable to hospitals overall financial well-being and the collections of claims.Bridges the gap between the clinical and business sides of healthcare and provides patients and families with a seamless and easy process when moving through the health care system.Responsible for accuracy of the charge description master to ensure regulatory and reimbursement compliance.Reviews status of patient accounts receivable to identify and resolve billing and processing problems in a timely manner.Establishes, implements, and monitors a system for the collection of delinquent accounts, ensuring third-party payers are contacted.Establishes and recommends credit and collection policies.Ensures that payments are received according to contract.Measures and monitors account collection against expected contract amountsWorks with departments to enhance the efficiency of the revenue cycle process, the charge capture process, denials management and reimbursement issues.Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue, reduce denials, and improve reimbursement rates.Monitor and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics are within established thresholds and assess revenue cycle performance.Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure alignment of revenue cycle practices with organizational goals.Promotes positive interpersonal relations and demonstrates commitment to teamwork and customer service.Hiring and training of leadership positions and directing the hiring and training of all staff in the department.
