Worthington Industries is excited to be hiring in our Shipping and Receiving department. The individual in this role must be organized, proactive, and have strong time management skills, as they handle a variety of tasks. This includes but is not limited to handling the loading and unloading of trucks, staging docks, conducting cycle counts, generating proper paperwork for material receipts and shipments, and ensuring positive process flow through the department, inbound and outbound.
Responsibilities
Communicates with carriers and schedule appointments for inbound/outbound loads
Accurately receive, unload, and store material into inventory
Staging/removing trailers from the docks and proper placement of trailers in the yard
Stages loads and loads trucks with product to meet delivery dates
Communicate and coordinate with outside departments on shipping/receiving.
Ensures proper receipt of coils into storage areas and ability to recognize quality defects
Communicate defects or other problems to the proper department
Follows FIFO procedures and ability to id problems within the FIFO process
Accurately conduct cycle counts on a bi-weekly basis
Trains and mentors other shipping/receiving employees.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience
Knowledge of inventory control
Working knowledge of PC and Windows operating system (trainable for Oracle)
Excellent forklift/material handling skills
Familiarity with all shipping related paperwork and associated system transactions that are required for daily activities
May need advanced knowledge and familiarity with plant-wide production, purchasing and maintenance activities to facilitate the appropriate stocking and issuing of MRO items
