Job Summary

Supports manufacturing operations in day to day financial and accounting needs.  These responsibilities include executing the monthly financial reporting close and associated monthly reporting, capital expenditure reporting and analysis, review and approval of purchase orders.   Monthly financial analysis and reporting includes capital expenditures, inventory, labor, materials, overhead and various productivity measures/KPIs.   

Essential Functions

1. Performs month-end close for site and prepares journal entries.

2. Provide reports on operating expense actuals versus budgets/forecasts. Assist the management team in the functional/departmental analysis of expenses and metrics.

3. Provide management with detailed analysis on actual performance as required.

4. Prepare reports on Key Performance Indicators for manufacturing and/or distribution operations including such things as Cost per Unit and Value of Production, Yield by Product and Total Headcount.

5. Review and approve purchase orders for ensuring correct account usage.

6. Assist in the budget process through the collection of operations data, data entry into budget models, and provide analysis of trends, variances and opportunities.

7. Maintain and improve local financial reports (for the use of both finance and operations).

8. Responsible for capital expenditure reporting, analysis, and document control.

9. Assist the Corporate Consolidations team on summarizing intercompany charges prior to month-end close.

10. Work on special projects as required such as capital project proposals or Lean/Six Sigma projects.

11. Annually audit capital assets; manage documentation/approval process of disposals; write-offs and acquisition of new assets.

12. Participate in the annual SOX audit.

13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   

• Experience with monthly financial close processes, with an operations background

• Experience with standard cost estimates, financial analysis and cost drivers

• Experience synthesizing and communicating operational and financial data

• Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills

• Microsoft Excel and Power Point wizard

• Ensure compliance with internal controls

• Ability to apply the principles of Management Cost Accounting and US GAAP

• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and conflicting priorities

• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and strives to stay technically up-to-date Highly organized; with a natural drive for results

• Demonstrated success working in a deadline driven, multi-task environment

• Ability to embrace change and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrix environment

• Ability to work with both executive operations management and the shop floor

• Ability to comprehend and recognize the diverse strengths and abilities within a group setting and works together to achieve the desired results

Work Environment:   

• Normal office environment

• Sedentary to light physical effort necessary to perform the job

Experience:   

• 2+ years’ financial experience required. Cost accounting proficiency and manufacturing accounting background strongly desired.

Education:   

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $70,000 and $90,000 and may include cost of living adjustments.  The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future.  This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
