Role Summary

The Trend Insights and Solution Analytics Sr. Director will report into the Managing Director of Sales and Provider Analytics. This role is an opportunity to create and execute on a roadmap and vision for improving analytics through data-driven insights and innovative solutions through analysis of analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.

This role will drive the development of reporting to identify cost inefficiencies and work collaboratively with business teams to develop new cost saving initiatives for implementation. The position will work closely with the Cigna Medical/Rx and Specialty product teams to develop innovative new products and benefits and develop measurable proof points for demonstrating performance.

The ideal candidate will leverage advanced analytics tools to generate actionable insights and drive strategic decision-making. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide a team of analysts and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive business growth and enhance customer experience. Responsibilities:


  • Provide thought leadership to improving the depth and breadth of cost reporting.

  • Organize performance data to de-average spend for prompt identification of outlier across disease states.

  • Promote a culture of excellence to support a team of subject matter and technical experts to leverage best in class tools for performance reporting with efficient drill through capabilities to the lowest common structure.

  • Improve dimensions and depth of cost reporting across disease states, services categories, provider, and consumer levels.

  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies, solutions, and initiatives to drive business growth, optimize operations, and improve customer engagement.

  • Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to extract insights from large datasets, perform trend analysis, and generate actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with matrix teams, including marketing, sales, finance, and IT, to align on analytics priorities, projects, and deliverables.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in analytics, data science, and market research to drive continuous innovation and improvement.

  • Provide transparency into savings opportunities across the continuum of care.

  • Identify both common and unique areas of trend growth across business segments and deliver data to aid in the development of strategies to drive affordability savings aligned with each business segment.

  • Develop business case constructs to pilot, assess, and scale successful trend insight and solution-based initiatives.

  • Design assessment criteria for cross-prioritizing initiatives to ensure focus on most feasible and highest impact opportunities.

  • Prioritize initiatives to drive efficiency in time allocation across numerous potential value-add concepts.

  • Communication with and influencing of key matrix partners to ensure goals and targets are met.

  • Promote an innovative, collaborative, and engaging work environment.

Qualifications:


  • 10 years of experience in data analytics, trend analysis, and strategic insights, preferably in the healthcare industry.

  • Experience with enterprise analytic tools e.g. Tableau, SQL, SAS, ThoughtSpot.

  • Experience in predictive capabilities; predictive analytics a plus.

  • Proven skill in understanding individual market dynamics (healthcare providers, employers, and competitors, skill/experience in quality/payment innovation programs, health plan performance, etc.) to set strategies/tactics to achieve both cost and quality objectives.

  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership ability to engage and motivate in a high-performance culture.

  • Strategic thinker with both sound and broad business acumen

  • Experience working successfully in a matrix environment.

  • Proven experience in managing multiple priorities and agility in adapting to change.

  • Change leader who will be proactive in assisting in positive growth for the future.

  • Ability to manage a vision and purpose with various business stakeholders and analytic teams.

  • Comfortable working with all levels of management

  • Strong verbal/written communication skills

  • Set financial roadmap for cost of care initiative improvement activities to yield the highest savings for financial, clinical and network investment.

  • Be visionary. Align vision with quality of care and value-based strategies to drive savings with appropriate access to care.

  • Bring passion and inspire others by effectively communicating, exemplify motivating principles, and rally a team to overachieve results.

  • Build trusting relationships among business partners and peers to support change initiatives.

  • Build coalition of key stakeholders.

  • Work with business partners and project management resources to implement strategies.

  • Identify market trends and disruptors to remain competitive and to understand criticality of speed to market.

  • Identify and build relationships with executive teams to support initiatives, funding, and resources.
