Distribution Center Fulfillment Manager

We are looking for a Distribution Center Fulfillment Manager for our Westbury, NY facility. In this role you will be responsible to ensure that daily warehousing & shipping activities are executed on a timely basis, that product workflows that affect production, distribution, and inventory are coordinated & executed in an optimal manner, that inventory management of finished goods is practiced with a high focus on quality in the storage & packaging of such goods. The Warehouse Manager creates and reviews procedures for distribution and inventory management on a regular basis to maximize customer satisfaction, optimize workflows and minimize cost. The Warehouse Manager ensures a safe working environment for staff in the warehousing & distribution areas.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manages team of warehouse operatives
• Plans & organizes daily workload in the warehouse to ensure on-time fulfillment of in- and outbound orders
• Ensures same-day dispatch of direct to customer orders ("drop-ships") as well as any other urgent shipments
• Plans & organizes material flows (in- & outbound) on a daily basis to ensure maximum availability of product for distribution or production
• Ensures high standards of packaging for customer orders & conformity with all shipping requirements, including special packaging requirements for hazardous materials & airfreights
• Monitors carriers & forwarders on their delivery schedules & their on-time pick-up of outbound shipments for onward delivery
• Ensures that any movement of goods into, within and out of the warehouses are recorded accurately in SAP as they occur
• Addresses problems with order flow or shipping delays and quality-control issues, such as damaged or improperly packed goods, as well as day-to-day concerns with warehouse capacity and client deadlines
• Performs periodic analysis of shipping performance (on-time, quality, ...)
• Monitors warehouse utilization, quality & accuracy in SAP inventory data
• Maintains perpetual inventory control of finished goods, including cycle count process and variance tracking
• Facilitates periodic inventory review reporting for management team
• Ensures conformity with CTPAT security requirements for both facilities & arrange regular audits to verify compliance
• Leads or support projects in the warehouse, shipping & transportation areas
• Ensures compliance with quality, health & safety policies

Your Profile:

• 5+ years proven experience within the field of logistics (warehousing as well as shipping), ideally from the manufacturing or logistics sectors
• Experience supervising teams and organizing daily workloads within a warehousing & distribution environment
• ERP, ideally SAP, experience with a working knowledge of logistics software (Warehouse & Transport Management Systems)
• Experience handling hazardous materials
• 49CFR/IATA/IMDG Dangerous Good Shipping Certification preferred
• Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed to operate a forklift, available to work overtime hours during the busier times of the year and able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Proficiency with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently with a dynamic workload & against deadlines
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $100,000.00 to $110,000.00 per year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
