Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector I to join our Ogden, Utah location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality function. This position will report to Quality Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Ensure compliance with batch record requirements and documentation of production operations.

  • Sampling and inspecting raw materials (may occasionally require lifting of up to 50 lbs).

  • Perform physical testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products as required.

  • Perform equipment and production area inspections and associated testing (may occasionally require climbing ladders to elevated heights).

  • Assist with audits, inspections and monitoring programs as directed.

  • Sampling of incoming raw materials, in-process and finished products (may occasionally require lifting of up to 50 lbs).

  • Ensure proper identification of equipment and material status.

  • Inspect and disposition product labels and components.

  • Conduct first article and on-going inspections.

  • Provide technical support to production operations and other departments as necessary.

  • Occasional Saturday and Sunday work as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:


  • High school graduate or genera] education degree (GED) required.

  • Excellent written and verbal/communication skills required.

  • Self-starter

  • Good planning and problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Sense of urgency

  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel and Word and Outlook)

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs of weight.

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • One to three years' experience in a quality control role in a food or dietary supplement GMP controlled environment preferred.
