WHAT YOU'LL DO


Do you have a passion for helping the next generation of nurses? Do you want to develop content solutions for prelicensure education and practicing nurses? Are you detail-oriented, yet task and deadline driven? As a Nursing Education Specialist at Ascend Learning you will combine your faculty and clinical expertise to develop products that meet real world needs.


WHERE YOU’LL WORK


This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the continental United States. 


HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME



  • Create original and/or update existing nursing content that reflects current practice. Content includes assessment items, tutorials, simulations, and/or other products as defined.

  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams demonstrating strong presentation, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and professional-level writing expertise with great attention to detail.

  • Able to manage multiple projects and tasks, work effectively in a rapidly changing environment and meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines.



  • Attend and actively participate in item review meetings with internal or external subject matter experts.

  • Respond appropriately to internal and external client inquiries in a timely fashion.



  • Assist with training and coordinating internal and external contributors on projects.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely to align product specification requirements.



  • Conduct beta testing and quality assurance checks on products prior to release.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED



  • Five years as a full-time faculty member, teaching both theory and clinical, in a prelicensure practical, associate, diploma, or baccalaureate program.

  • Expertise in teaching prelicensure adult medical-surgical nursing and/or advanced medical-surgical nursing, as well as the ability to create generalist-level content across the nursing curriculum.

  • MSN and current RN license required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, and the internet

  • Conducting literature searches using a variety of research databases.

  • Authoring professional-level, original content.

  • Writing items for nursing tests following an assessment blueprint.

  • Knowledge of and ability to align products with the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN detailed test plans.

  • Knowledge of current nursing practice and trends in prelicensure nursing education.

  • Ability to discern and follow detailed product development guidelines, while meeting established deadlines.

  • Occasional travel required.

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
