Yard Booth Assistant at Ashby Lumber

Job Description:

OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for ensuring customers are greeted promptly and courteously, directing customers to the correct person or area for loading, and always maintaining proper traffic flow.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously

  • Direct customer to a specific employee or area to be loaded

  • Know products and their locations

  • Handle returns in the appropriate manner

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment

  • Use common sense and be aware of the surroundings in order to avoid accidents

  • Other duties may be assigned to you by the Yard Supervisor or Assistant Yard Supervisor

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Provide great customer service

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept directions on given assignments

  • Able to work collectively with the Yard employees

  • Bilingual a must

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sit/stand for 8 hours per day

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate

  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles

  • Outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions

  • Occasionally must reach with arms and hands, climb or balance

  • All mobility motions are required occasionally for indoor and outdoor environments (standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, squatting, and climbing) 

  • Range of motion and physical activity occurring randomly
