About the Role:
Conducts original research in an area of national, international, and/or District economics to advance knowledge and understanding and to advise senior management and the Board of Directors in these areas. Economists are expected to produce high quality research for publication in refereed journals and presentation at research conferences, and to provide high quality analysis for policy briefings and Bank publications. Disseminates information and promotes the image of the Federal Reserve Bank through various publications, speaking engagements, and interactions with members of the economic, academic and business communities. Performs independent work and study and demonstrates advanced skills in performing research activities. Develops new methods/applications when appropriate, understands the systemic impact of policies, and has experience and record in publication originality, policy advice and/or institutional knowledge.

This position requires access to confidential supervisory information and/or FOMC information, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents who either are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization or who have applied for naturalization within the requisite timeframe.
