Job Description:

Account Territory Representative (Automotive Industry) – Remote travel role (preferably based out of the Baltimore, Philadelphia or New Jersey area)

What you will do

As an Account Territory Representative, you will be based out of the East Coast (home-based position, located near a major airport market) with expectations of travel within your assigned multi-state territory. Provides direct support to AutoZone to promote sales, reduce returns, train customer sales personnel, check testing equipment, monitor commercial program compliance, and foster goodwill.

How you will do it


  • Effectively communicate battery program goals and objectives, product knowledge and sales techniques to increase battery volume within each AutoZone region. Methods include, but are not limited to:


  • Conducting training workshops on a frequency mutually agreed upon with field team manager, and AutoZone Regional Management.


  • Providing Commercial & Retail sales personnel with battery sales, warranty and testing equipment training


  • Conduct installer sales calls with Territory Sales Managers to generate incremental sales volume and support AutoZone commercial customer base, as determined by position manager.


  • Meet with AutoZone Regional Management to report year-to-date performance results and collaboratively develop goals, objectives and activities for the following period(s) to attain assigned incremental volume.  Responsibility includes taking either leadership or support role, as determined by manager.


  • Analyze sales reports and take appropriate action(s) to attain assigned incremental volume within assigned AutoZone regions.


  • Manage/maintain communication with assigned regions to identify and appropriately take action on potential opportunities, challenges or personnel changes impacting attainment of assigned incremental volume.


  • Inspects battery testing and charging equipment condition and accuracy. Recommends replacement/repair actions, if necessary, to support sales.


  • Monitors store service levels and recommends appropriate actions as required to meet objectives.


  • Support Clarios and/or AutoZone functions, such as trade shows, open houses, and regional/national meetings, as assigned or appropriate to meet objectives.


  • Communicates all reports, data, or surveys to appropriate parties, as assigned by manager, to meet objectives.


  • Manage expenses within assigned travel and expense budgets, as determined by manager.


What we look for


  • MOST IMPORTANT: We are looking for a candidate with positive attitude, high energy, strong communication skills, problem solving skills, integrity and self-motivation.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience within sales, training, product representation, management and/or a customer-facing role 


  • Candidate must be local to the East Coast (Baltimore, Philadelphia, or New Jersey areas)


  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills, presentation/training skills, PC skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and home office, as needed to accomplish primary duties.


  • Ability to collaboratively create and execute customer development plans to attain assigned incremental sales volumes.


  • Previous automotive parts sales experience preferred.


  • Ability to travel up to 75% within your geographic territory throughout the Eastern United States, as well as other states within your defined geographic territory (typically Monday through Thursday on-the-road). 30% of travel includes air travel (prefer home-base near a major airport market)
