POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT

Brief Description of Position: Will teach a variety of day, evening, hybrid, or online classes in the mathematics curriculum ranging from Developmental Mathematics up through Calculus III. The instructor may teach classes at off-site locations as needed. The instructor will provide academic advising to students and will perform other departmental and/or college-wide duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. A Master’s Degree in Mathematics or a master’s degree and at least 18 graduate semester hours in a combination of courses from Mathematics or related fields. Transcripts should be from an accredited college or university required. 
    Note: A Master’s degree in Mathematics Education is not the same as a Master’s in Mathematics. Master’s degrees in Mathematics Education will be required to have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics or a related field.
  2. Prior teaching experience at the community college level is strongly preferred.
  3. Experience teaching high-school students preferred.
  4. Use of current technology in mathematics instruction and experience teaching online classes preferred.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collegially with faculty and staff.
  6. Candidates should possess knowledge of and commitment to teaching strategies and methods which enhance student success.

SalaryHiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($5,246 – 6,560/monthly) 9-month contract.
