MMC Operator (2nd Shift) at Tekni-plex

Job Description:

Tekni-Plex's Winston Salem location is the largest facility within the Consumer Products division. The MMC Operator is responsible for taking ownership and showing personal accountability as you operate light duty production equipment--ensuring quality products for our customers and their consumers. 


Shift Hours: 2:45pm - 11:00pm


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works in a safe effective manner /maintains a safe work environment / Reports all safety issues immediately.

  • Starts production machinery at beginning of shift and maintains production at required standard rate – escalates any issues that are/may prevent achieving standard rate.

  • Maintains “Hr. by hr.” boards to accurately reflect machine performance and improvement opportunities

  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment

  • Able to identify quality issues on a product upon completion of training

  • Willing to be cross trained in order to run other production equipment

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret and follow production documents, equipment gauges and monitors on factory equipment.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment

  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment with team mates to ensure quality production and minimal unnecessary stops. This includes rotating break times so machines are always maintained through the shift

  • Maintain a clean and organized work- station.

  • Assemble product parts by hand if needed.

  • Communicate with team members and support teammates to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials

  • Keeps factory floor/work cell clean and organized.

  • Promptly complete all tasks as directed by supervision.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE



  • Actively exhibit and live our core values

  • Experience as a Machine Operator

  • Knowledge of Production Procedures

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Speak and write in English

  • Physical stamina & ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

  • Able to follow detailed instructions

  • Flexibility in shift preference between

  • Ability to Read Blueprints, Schematics and Manuals
