Supports Intensity Scale Evaluator (Hybrid, North Carolina Based) at Alliance Health

Job Description:

The Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Evaluator is responsible for scheduling and completing administration of the SIS, to include scoring the assessment and preparing a summary report.  In addition, the SIS Evaluator may conduct other assessments/evaluations as requested.


This position will allow the successful candidate to work a hybrid schedule. Candidates are required to work a minimum of one day a week per week in the office closest to their residence. This role may require travel to complete face to face evaluations as needed in the communities Alliance serves. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES


Assessment Administration and Scheduling



  • Schedule and administer the Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) as assigned.

  • Maintain scheduling spreadsheet and Calcium Calendar regarding assigned assessments and scheduling status.

  • Initiate and coordinate communication regarding scheduling of assessments with member’s Team.

  • Conduct assessments consistent with American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AAIDD) standards and validity pertaining to the SIS tool.

  • Complete SIS reports on SIS online including uploading SIS Checklist as assigned.

  • Enter assessment related information into Jiva as assigned.


Assessment Evaluation



  • Provide analysis and interpretation of SIS results.

  • Prepare written reports of the results of assessments, including conclusions/recommendations as appropriate, in a timely manner.


Communication and Collaboration



  • Participate as a member the SIS Supplemental Questions Verification Committee as assigned.

  • Collaborate with other members of the SIS team to ensure consistency between interviewers and over time.

  • Participate in SIS Team Meetings as assigned.

  • Assist as needed with development of operational/training materials related to Supports Intensity Scale.

  • Assist with provision of education/training as needed to promote positive outcomes of SIS initiatives.

  • Ensure responsiveness to feedback/questions/concerns from individuals, families and providers related to the SIS


LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS


Completion of assessment evaluator training and Inter-Rater Quality Review (IRQR) certification within 4 months of employment and annual re-certification.      


MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE


Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in a human services field and two (2) years of post-degree professional developmental disabilities experience; or a master’s degree in a human services field and one (1) year of post-degree progressive experience providing similar services to the population served;  or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Work experience with all age groups of people with ID. Valid driver's license.  


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS



  • Knowledge of the essential skills required for conducting SIS assessments. 

  • Skill in interviewing and active listening.,

  • Skill in facilitating group facilitation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, and the propensity to make prompt independent decisions based upon relevant facts and established processes. 

  • Ability to be detail oriented.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Ability to effectively manage an assigned caseload under the pressure of competing deadlines.  

  • Ability to independently organize multiple tasks and priorities.

  • Skill in problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution to balance the needs of both internal and external customers.

  • Ability to effectively interact and build rapport with others from varying backgrounds.

  • Ability to determine when additional inquiry/questioning is required to clarify ambiguity.


Salary Range


$28.12 - $36.55/Hourly 


Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
