Position Overview
This is an internship/trainee position working to gain further experience in the construction industry. This position involves working under the Construction Superintendent or Foreman while in the field.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Work as a construction trainee
Work with Foreman and Superintendents
Work closely with construction crew on a daily basis
Work with construction crew learning job safety and security
Work with construction crew on learning Traffic Control Plans
Work on a construction crew and/or prep crew, paving crew
Spend time with foreman learning how to prepare for the job and set up job
Learn about construction equipment - various uses and skills required
Qualifications

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Current enrollment in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field degree program
Work Requirements
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. .
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.

Must have a current and valid driver's license.
