The Maintenance Technician will be directly responsible for maintaining and servicing all plant equipment and buildings.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor
Can install circuit breakers, starters, panels, run conduit and make hook-ups with little or no supervision
Know and be able to repair all mill equipment with little or no supervision
Can trouble shoot all electrical equipment in plant and repair same, up to and including 480 volts
Thorough knowledge of all electrical supply circuits
Have good welding skills and good proficiency with an oxygen acetylene torch
Do both installation and repair of normal pipe runs
Able to read and work with blueprints, drawings sketches and schematics
Have a complete and thorough knowledge of all mill flows, processes, and equipment, all electrical systems, all parts inventories and sources
Be able to train less experienced electricians
Fill on call positions as assigned, during non-regular business hours
Follow all KNG Guidelines and requirements of plant and company policies, all regulatory and certifying agencies
Attend seminars and correspondence courses whenever possible to improve skill levels
Be physically able to perform all tasks required, but no limited to climbing, lifting and carrying weights of 55 lbs or more
Observe safe practices at all times
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
Good communication skills
Understanding of feed manufacturing and willingness to learn and grow
Basic computer knowledge
Understanding of feed mill equipment and layout
Thorough understanding of cGMP’S.
Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Food Safety Plan
Knowledge of FSMA
Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperature
