Job Description:

Summary:

Engineering Lab Technician intern position for VIAVI's Storage Network Test R&D lab in San Jose.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Manage all of the test set-ups in the lab

  
  
  
  

  • Installing PCIe cards , drives, memory and other PC components

  
  

  • Selecting and moving equipment between benches, racks and shelves

  
  

  • Disassembling chassis (after a training session)

  
  

  • Identify, and fix or replace broken equipment

  
  

  • Learn about and correctly configure the various type of cables and connectors used in these setups

  
  
  
  



• Automate the lab equipment with scripts – Python, TCL, etc.




• Document - lab configurations (e.g. wiki updates, pictures)




• Define and locate DUTs for a required test set-up,  (e.g. find 100G FC HBA and provision OS/Host systems that would support them)




• Run and automate test cases for the Protocol Analyzer and Error Injector

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Requirements:

• Can navigate Windows OS - install drivers, applications, configure networking, etc.




• Basic understanding of IP protocols




• Good organizational skill to organize the lab and arrange the test set-ups
