Our company is seeking a talented and experienced mid-career Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing and modernizing our data science infrastructure, collaborating closely with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and analysts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building ML/DL models using Python tools such as scikit-learn and Hugging Face, with expertise in developing end-to-end pipelines. You will be responsible for optimizing ML operations, improving existing models, and introducing best practices to elevate our data science capabilities.
 



Key Responsibilities:



  • Design, build, and deploy machine learning models using Python, with a focus on tools like scikit-learn and Hugging Face.

  • Develop end-to-end ML pipelines, responsible for integration from back to front end.

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, product managers, and analysts to understand business requirements and provide solutions.

  • Contribute to applied ML research and innovation to enhance our current models.

  • Improve and modernize existing ML pipelines and operations, emphasizing best practices and efficiency gains.

  • Demonstrate strong communication and consulting skills, facilitating effective collaboration within a diverse team.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a collaborative and agile development process.
     


Must-Haves:



  • Strong background in ML applied research or MLOps, with demonstrated experience in promoting best research & development practices.

  • Proficiency in Python and experience with building ML/DL models using, but not limited to, scikit-learn and Hugging Face.

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing end-to-end ML pipelines.

  • Excellent communication and consulting skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a related role.

 



Nice-to-Haves:



  • Experience in NLP, LLMs, or computer vision.

  • Experience in productionizing ML pipelines on large-scale datasets (terabytes per day).

  • Familiarity with SAS Viya 4.

  • Experience with data modeling, documentation, and understanding complex database structures.

  • Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with tools for creating and maintaining data dictionaries or metadata repositories.

A candidate who is able to reverse engineer and understand complex database structures will thrive, finding many opportunities to contribute to the documentation and improvement of our data infrastructure. The ability to handle large datasets and contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced environment is essential. This role provides the opportunity for direct input in building a robust data science environment for researching, applying, and productionizing a variety of ML and DL models.
