This position supports the Indiana CTSI Clinical Research Centers (CRCs) at University Hospital and Goodman Hall. The CRCs provide high-quality, competitively-priced clinical research services and facilities for Federal- and Industry-funded Indiana CTSI investigators, including clinic space, skilled nursing staff, lab and nutrition services for both inpatient or outpatient adult or pediatric visits.
Provide overall supervision and administrative direction to all clinical nursing activities. Provide supervision of research personnel and support staff.
Perform various personnel functions including recruitment, project assignments, training, performance appraisals, and discipline
Provide staff with adequate workspace and materials. Plan and coordinate the schedules and responsibilities of the nursing staff in the unit
Supervise the daily activities of the nursing staff. Ensure that special supplies are available. Coordinate patient scheduling and ensure that rooms and nursing staff are available
Prepare new protocols. Oversee that procedures are implemented, samples are properly taken and in a timely manner, as well as proper handling and shipping of samples
Generate ideas for improvement of the section and increased functioning. Assist in the implementation of approved changes
Expand knowledge base and keep abreast with new nursing developments by attending continuing education meetings, lectures, training sessions and conferences
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
3 years of related experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Registered Nurse issued by the State of Indiana upon date of hire.
Ability to lead/manage others.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients.
