We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead and grow our enthusiastic team of engineers in Denver, Colorado. Our Denver group is a national leader in providing innovative solutions to flood risk management, water supply development, and other water resource related challenges and opportunities. Among several high-profile projects, we are leading a large municipal water supply reservoir project in the Rocky Mountains, and provide innovative solutions to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, City of Boulder, Colorado Springs Utilities and numerous state, federal, and international government clients. The Operations Manager is part of the management team and will have the opportunity to coordinate with other Tetra Tech offices across the U.S. and overseas.

Your Role:


  • Act as client manager for select clients in the water resources industry
  • Act as program/project manager and/or provide senior level technical roles for select projects and programs in planning, analysis, engineering, and/or design associated with flood risk management, water supply development, dam and reservoir engineering and other related surface water resources management projects
  • Supervise and direct staff to ensure optimal productivity, positive motivation, training, and employee recognition
  • Support financial, project management, backlog, and utilization reporting requirements for the Denver group
  • Promote a safety conscious work environment
  • Support business development efforts with a focus on clients in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a proven track record of client engagement and project capture planning, backed by a strong reputation with public agencies for success driven water resource consulting services.


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the water resources industry and a CO PE required
  • 10+ years of experience in staff management, financial management, and business development
  • Regional client management experience and relationships with municipalities, counties, and state and federal agencies
  • Dam planning and engineering design experience a plus

The salary range for this position is approximately $140,000 to $180,000 depending on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
