JOB SUMMARY :

Designated as primary contact for parts department special projects such as providing quotes and order for Sales teams, or Customer Agreement Administrator, or Truck and Commercial Service teams. Manage inventory for special parts kits that are necessary for identified projects. Assist with email orders and quotes received from internal and external clients including other parts areas as directed. Provide leadership and vision for the department in alignment with the department and corporate mission and objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded for the Rental Department.
  • Hiring, training, and development of all rental operations and transport operations personnel.
  • Maintain high quality and quantity work standards.
  • Analyze monthly Cognos financial and inventory statements to review department expenses and recovery.
  • Determine rental inventory levels including additions and rollouts.
  • Manage rental market rates to optimize time and financial utilization and market share objectives.
  • Manage stated objective and process for client loyalty.
  • Manage and direct all rental transport employees and functions to meet revenue and expense objectives.
  • Work effectively with Caterpillar at all levels to ensure alignment and communications with our CAT partners.
  • Work effectively with CAT dealers to leverage best practice opportunities.
  • Maintain allied equipment inventory levels to meet goals. Develops and maintains a sales list for allied machines.
  • Continually looks for technology, systems, and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Work with allied vendors to ensure product quality and pricing discounts are received by EMPIRE.
  • Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain outstanding customer relations. Set a proper example of good customer relations, inter-company cooperation and neat personal appearance.
  • Participate in Rental Department strategic planning sessions to prepare for future operations and growth.
  • Ensure that the proper equipment and support is available to best utilize the systems.
  • Manage cash sale write-offs on cash sales for the rental operations.
  • Maintain and report rental revenue, book value information, and rental quality graphs monthly to rental and sales department.
  • Work within and promote corporate values.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with clients, vendors, and influence others.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of products EMPIRE sells and services, and be able to complete Rental agreements, credit memos, and all other Rental Department related documents.
  • Ability to effectively perform public speaking presentations and provide written communication.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Extremely high level of attention to detail and high standard of quality.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with high volume of on-going projects and very fast turn-around times.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Ability to develop alternative solutions and workable implementation plans.
  • Must have planning skills sufficient to forecast department requirements and effectively produce department objectives.
  • Working knowledge of all Rental Department procedures and policies including inventory control knowledge.
  • Must be knowledgeable about heavy equipment industry, customers, characteristics, and the requirements of meeting their needs.
  • Must have mathematical skills sufficient to perform common calculations quickly and accurately.

  • Ability to maintain consistent attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Empire Rental.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.

  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
