About the Role:

The Retail Excess Casualty division of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. , is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join one of our West Coast Offices. This will be a Production role with responsibility for underwriting new and renewal business that is middle market in size and scope.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Marketing and underwriting Excess Casualty business

  • Exposure identification for a wide variety of business types

  • Contract analysis

  • Adhering to underwriting rules and guidelines

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers to facilitate a flow of desirable new business and to maintain renewal business via quality service

  • Collaborating with other product lines to provide full product support to the client

  • Assist management with training, mentoring and development of other underwriters on the team Underwrite select renewal accounts to renewal retention to department standards

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or above and/or insurance certifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting casualty business

  • Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills

  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment

  • Customer-oriented approach

For CA only: The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
