We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This individual will perform a variety of basic to moderately complex engineering work in designing

planning

and overseeing the manufacture

construction

installation

operation

and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic components

equipment

systems

facilities

and machinery. The Mechanical Engineer manages the installation and startup of new mechanical and hydraulic systems as well as equipment upgrades. Key position results for this role include but are not limited to accurate design

planning and implementation of basic to moderately complex mechanical projects; opportunities for improved machine reliability and safety; tasks/projects completed on time and on budget; and timely effective design and support of continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated

problem solver who has a strong work ethic to improve safety

quality and production levels of mechanical and hydraulic systems and equipment.

Responsibilities


  • Performs troubleshooting of critical mechanical and hydraulic machine breakdowns.
  • Manages machine mechanical modifications

    documentation and drawings


  • Researches

    analyzes


    recommends


    and designs basic upgrades to machine mechanical and hydraulic systems with current technology to improve machine reliability and efficiency.


  • Responsible for overseeing startup and commissioning of upgrades.
  • Recommends and assists maintenance department in developing and performing basic preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment.
  • Instructs and mentors engineering and shop floor maintenance technicians.
  • Proficient in the identification and procurement of critical mechanical and hydraulic spare parts.
  • Directs outside contractors in performing mechanical projects and repairs. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and write bid specifications for new and upgrade processes and equipment.
  • Assists in the evaluation of quotations for functional/operational feasibility and code/regulatory compliance.
  • Administer evaluation costs related to services

    parts


    and equipment.


  • Manages basic to moderately complex capital projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • High level mechanical and hydraulic trouble shooting skills
  • Project management skills related to tasks and basic capital projects
  • Knowledge of mechanical

    hydraulic and HVAC systems technology that will result is systems being upgraded as needed


  • Knowledge of plant level safe work practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of national mechanical standards (i.e.

    vessel pressures pipe/tanks


    certified welding requirements


    fastener strengths


    etc.)


    overhead crane codes


    OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 2-5 years of related work experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting
  • Willingness to travel and evening and weekend work as needed
  • Proficient in Solidworks

    AutoCAD


    Microsoft Project and Excel
