The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Quality Director, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leading all Quality-related aspects of manufacturing site disentanglement efforts associated with the pending spinoff of 3M's Health Care Business Group as a separate company

  • Defining and overseeing the Quality Compliance strategy and requirements for the qualification of new brown-field healthcare manufacturing facilities and their associated manufacturing operations, as well as for existing sites consolidating existing activities from current sites that are not conveying as part of the pending spinoff

  • Defining and implementing the Quality Management System deployment strategy for new brown-field healthcare manufacturing facilities to enable successful ISO 13485 site certifications

  • Partnering with the Operations and Supply Chain organization to define and execute project timelines to meet business needs associated with product and process transfers

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND at least Ten (10) years of Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Combination Product experience in a Quality function in a private, public, government or military environment, with at least 5 years of quality management experience demonstrating team leadership, compliance excellence, value improvement, and risk reduction

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED from AND (14) years of Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Combination Product experience in a Quality function in a private, public, government or military environment, with at least 5 years of quality management experience demonstrating team leadership, compliance excellence, value improvement, and risk reduction

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Five (5) years of Quality Engineering and/or Operations Quality Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Combination Product experience in a multi-site, private, public, government or military environment

  • Skills including, but not limited to, Quality Engineering, Process Validation, Product Line Transfers, New Facility Qualification, Validation Master Planning, Process Control & Monitoring, Risk Reduction, Medical Device Manufacturing, Nonconforming Material Control, Continuous Process and Product Improvement, External Audit Readiness, and Organizational Leadership

  • Demonstrated successful organizational influence in areas including, but not limited to, compliance excellence, continuous improvement, product-related risk mitigation, and process capability and efficiency enhancement

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide diligent, concise, and fact-based communication to Executive Management, cross-functional peers, and your team for projects and priorities impacting multiple sites globally

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and management skills with the demonstrated ability to create momentum and deliver results in a timely manner by prioritizing personal workloads, as well as providing guidance, direction, and oversight to others

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to St. Paul at least 1 day per week)

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $215,577 - $263,483, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
