We are currently seeking Full-Time Plant Maintenance Mechanic for our Fort Myers market in Florida.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

The plant maintenance mechanic will e nsure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for daily maintenance and repair of the plant (within Preferred Materials Southern Group - Conrad Yelvington Distributors and Preferred Materials) as well as other miscellaneous work that needs to be performed. Responsibilities will include plant maintenance, repair, and ad installation operations as assigned. Performing special maintenance projects and maintenance and repair on all facility equipment. Troubleshoot and determine appropriate repairs, replacing defective parts as needed. Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment in use at the plant. The mechanic will need to be able to diagnose and repair various electrical and plumbing needs at multiple plant locations. Welding knowledge to make basic repairs periodically will be needed to be successful in this position.

The mechanic will be responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork that is required as well as communicating any maintenance that needs completed to management. Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility. The mechanic will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork management: Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation. In addition, the mechanic may be asked to perform a wide range of duties within the plant, and the willingness to help wherever needed.

The mechanic will be working in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions. Some hazard involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery. Mechanic will be asked to work overtime as well as some weekends as business needs determine.

Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years in the maintenance field

  • General experience with industrial equipment and ability to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Block plant operations.

  • Prior electrical, welding, mechanical and, plumbing training/experience

  • Ability to make electrical diagnosis and repairs

  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Might need to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours

  • Willingness to travel to other PMI Block plants in Florida as needed
