Job Description:

Vactor is currently seeking an Intern in our IT Department for the summer of 2024. This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience while applying what you have learned in school.  These internships typically run from May through August.  

Position Requirements:

• College student, preferably in junior or senior year of college pursuing a Technical Writing Degree or an English Degree.

• Workstation Management/Deployment: Assist in the deployment and configuration of workstations, ensuring they are set up to meet organizational standards and user requirements. We utilize KACE System Management and Microsoft Endpoint Management (Intune)

• User Support: Provide prompt and effective technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving user inquiries.

• Issue Triage: Efficiently triage and prioritize user-reported problems, escalating to higher-level support when necessary, and ensuring timely resolution.

• Project Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams on various workstation-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and hardware replacements.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of workstation configurations, changes, and issue resolutions, ensuring documentation is up-to-date.

• Security Compliance: Ensure workstations adhere to security policies and standards, implementing security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.

• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of workstation equipment, tracking assets, and managing hardware inventory levels.

• Training and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on industry best practices and share knowledge with the team, contributing to the collective expertise of the IT department.

• User Education: Educate end-users on best practices, security measures, and self-help resources to minimize common issues.

• Adaptability: Be adaptable and ready to respond to emerging IT challenges and opportunities as they arise, contributing to the overall success of the IT department.
