The Gallogly College of Engineering (GCoE) Outreach and Recruitment Office plays a critical role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of engineers and scientists for Oklahoma and the region. GCoE and OU believe that access and opportunity are essential to growing the engineering student body. As such, the mission of the Office is to engage, encourage and empower pre-collegiate students.
The Office includes the Director, the Assistant Director, and multiple student recruiters. As a team, the Office hosts activities and events on-campus and in prospective student communities, communicates with prospective students in a variety of ways throughout the year, and provides prospective students the academic resources they need to decide their own educational journey. In the past year, we have shown nearly 10,000 students the possibilities of an OU Engineering degree, impacting students across Oklahoma and neighboring states throughout the region.
The successful candidate for Assistant Director, Outreach and Recruitment must be willing to quickly learn about academics and student success in OU engineering and be able to deliver educational and recruiting programs to pre-college students with energy, knowledge and enthusiasm. The desired candidate should also be able to creatively contribute to the design and offering of the educational and recruiting programs. Important skills include attention to detail and the ability to be calm amid competing deadlines, multi-track events, and a multitude of pre-collegiate students.
This is an exciting time to be working in the Gallogly College of Engineering at OU as we seek to grow our engineering student body by providing access and opportunity to students across the region!
