JOB SUMMARY:


The Electronics Engineering Intern Position offers candidates an opportunity to work, contribute, apply academic skills in a corporate setting with industry professionals. This position involves independent work on small, embedded design or troubleshooting projects as well as contribution to larger electronics development projects. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Create design and test documentation for new and modifications to existing products.

  2. Assist in the failure analysis process of existing designs, determination of root causes and implementation of corrective actions.

  3. Assist in the design and construction of simple fixtures as well as automated test systems for validation and production testing of new and existing products.

  4. Provide support to electronics engineering staff as needed

  5. Make use of computer assisted design programs and systems as required.

  6. Support design of small microcontroller-based systems. Assess electrical designs for optimized cost and performance.

  7. Participate in code and circuit design reviews as required.

  8. Participate in the development of requirements as well as creating and performing tests on established requirements.

  9. Interfacing with other team members, other functional groups, and vendors to obtain information needed to complete assignments


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred

  • Completion of Sophomore year of college

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8 weeks if possible 


SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Good understanding of electrical design principles, and embedded systems hardware design.

  • Ability to visualize a development from concept to finished product and apply engineering decision making accordingly.

  • Ability to assess existing designs and troubleshoot design, manufacturing, and fielded product issues.

  • Understanding of embedded programming languages such as assembly and C is preferred.

  • Understanding of higher-level languages such as Python is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Electronics and basic mechanical CAD (Altium, AutoCAD, OrCAD) is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate and interface with all levels of personnel and management.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment effectively
