LANES is a community-based Healthcare Information Organization (HIO) whose mission is to improve health care delivery by building a platform that enables cost-effective and secure electronic exchange of patient medical records among public and private health care providers and health plans in Los Angeles County. LANES seeks to make personal health information available when and where it is needed for patient care, safely and securely.

LANES uses the Mirth technology, AWS cloud and Google Big Query and FHIR, to link healthcare organizations and to maintain the core technology infrastructure of the Health Information Organization.  

The Technical Project Manager will provide project support to LANES. Responsible for implementation of designated LANES projects, products, and services.  Interact with stakeholder of LANES, Lanes Leadership, and technical teams. Acts as a project manager and coordinates between multiple projects leaders both internal and external to the organization.   Identifies, develops, and initiates innovations and solutions where precedents and procedures may not exist. As the Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful implementations and other projects as designated. Your expertise in project management and healthcare IT will be essential in leading cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring the delivery of LANES solutions.

Responsibilities include interacting with LANES teams, clients, and external vendors to ensure LANES offers best in class Demonstrates inter-personal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills. Ensures open communication within project teams. Handles broad-based, often complex, communication for internal and/or external audiences. Defuses emotionally charged situations and uses them to constructively build greater shared commitment to end goals. Partners with sponsors in understanding and creating opportunities and in making timely choices. Uses knowledge of mission and core strategy as a basis to develop specific objectives and goals. Acts decisively in critical situations or to circumvent a potential problem.

Special Note: This is a virtual home-based position.  Will be required to attend in-person meetings in the Los Angeles area on an as-needed basis, usually at least once per week.

This is a full-time benefitted position.  The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $64.90 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Project Leadership: Lead and oversee the end-to-end execution of complex technical projects related to LANES HIE, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams, healthcare providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Foster clear communication and effective collaboration to drive project success.

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement proactive strategies to ensure timely project completion.

  • Stakeholder Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries and updates.

  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts, facilitating the smooth adoption of new technologies and processes. Provide training and support to ensure successful implementation and utilization of project outcomes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT) or a related field

  • Five (5) years of experience in project management across diverse areas and methodologies

  • Proven track record of Project management success

  • Two (2) years of experience working in team environments and implementing healthcare related systems dealing with HL7 / FHIR / CCD / Clinical data. 

  • Three (3) years of experience managing clients.

  • Experience with clinical data driven quality and functionality.

  • Experience with industry best practices quality experience preferred.

  • A valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
