Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW

As an experienced Vendor Management professional, you will lead the creative and problem-solving aspects of Supplier Relationship Management for a set of key strategic suppliers. This covers areas like our outsourced arrangement for our Individual Part D Plan (PDP), our suppliers considered First Tier, Downstream and Related Entities (FDRs) and other important suppliers. You'll be responsible for management communication and client relationship management. You'll use your critical thinking skills to establish functional goals and set priorities and objectives that align with our overall strategy.

You'll oversee areas like incident management, contract management, change management, impact identification, management communication, risk and controls, client relationship management, performance and service improvement, discovery/gathering/documenting of business needs, data and requirements. You'll work in collaboratively with our Business Stakeholders to identify and drive value across the Medicare businesses. You'll use creativity and industry trends to drive best-in-class service and bring forward strategic recommendations for how changes to service levels and models might improve our business results including but not limited to Stars, CAHPS, retention improvements, operating expense reductions and other financial measures of success.

Reporting relationships:

This position reports directly to the VP & COO of Medicare and has six direct reports and an approximate total team size of 63 employees.

THE PERSON

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Identify and manage a portfolio of key supplier relationships, including those suppliers categorized as an FDR (First Tier, Downstream or Related Entity) as well as those suppliers considered critical for our strategic, service and/or financial success.

  • Closely manage key suppliers at risk or suboptimal from a risk and/or performance perspective and serve as the catalyst to improve and resolve.

  • Devise strategies specifically focused on key suppliers and their impact on Stars, CAHPS and other externally facing measures of service and care delivery.

  • Lead the development and implementation of supplier management best practices for risk, performance, or cost - inclusive of evaluation, remediation and optimization.

  • Work with business stakeholders and suppliers to identify and agree strategic goals, objectives, areas of improvement, issues to resolve - track, measure and report progress against these.

  • Oversee contract management and lead negotiation support for key initiatives.

  • Maintain escalation channels with supplier to enable speedy resolution of service issues/outages/incidents.

  • Increase transparency, connectivity, engagement and strategic alignment between Cigna Medicare and key strategic suppliers.

  • Maintain a holistic supplier risk, performance, and cost posture across products, services, and business supported.

  • Lead business review meetings and strategic collaboration workshops to drive optimization and innovation.

  • Manage and prepare regular reporting on improvements to the overall risk and performance health and wellness of key strategic suppliers.

  • Lead and work with team to enable continuous improvement and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:


  • 10+ years of work experience, primarily in Sourcing or Vendor Management.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience.

  • Experienced in supplier leading risk and performance management practices, strategic and innovative thought process, dealing with complex customers, and can handle escalations skillfully.

  • Strong negotiation, project management, and decision-making skills

  • Proactive and creative approach to problem solving; strong analytical skills.

  • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, influencing and relationship building skills.

  • Attention to details and a self-starter.

  • Fosters positive working relationships; manage stakeholders globally.

  • Aptitude to prioritize key tasks effectively and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and consistently execute responsibilities independently.

  • Take ownership and responsibility.

  • Comfortable and has a proven track record working with Senior level executives.

  • Strong financial analysis acumen.
