SUMMARY: Assists in all areas of production including, but not limited to: planning, directing and coordinating the manufacturing process, implementing changes and improvements through lean manufacturing concepts and principles. The expectation of this position is a "hands on" supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain and implement production schedules. Start and complete jobs on time according to the production schedule by maintaining both personnel and equipment capacities.
Report on all production problems or slippage of dates. Give solution and options to problems.
Oversee of all personnel and work in assigned area.
Contribute to training, cross-training of daily job responsibilities and requirements.
Coordinate daily production kit/part requirements to control area inventory. Order shop supplies as needed.
Contribute to personnel reviews and discipline issues of employees in the assigned area.
Assist employees in utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, such as 5S, elimination of waste and create flow.
Contribute to the production cell when not performing supervisory duties.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years' experience in a related environment is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to speak effectively with employees
Ability to read and interpret drawings including but not limited to:
operations and maintenance instructions, safety guidelines and procedure manuals.
Ability to write and develop routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and metric equivalents.
