Position Summary:

The Billing Accountant will have a range of responsibilities, but the primary function will be to manage the billing of an assigned portfolio of projects. The Billing Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager but will work daily with the project management teams and accounting staff. The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and submit monthly client invoices for all projects within assigned portfolio ensuring invoices are billed accurately and consistently within award requirements and on a timely basis.
  • Follow up on overdue AR balances and ensure that clients are fully satisfied with each project's invoicing.
  • Assist in contract set up and closeouts.
  • Research and resolve billing issues with external and internal clients.
  • Maintain company's billing files.
  • Perform monthly general ledger review and account reconciliations.
  • Perform audit support for internal and external audits.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the Accounting Manager and Controller.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience required. Minimum two years of United States Government (USG) accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience working with complex data and assess, interpret, and apply government and commercial contract terms, requirements, and specifications.
  • Intermediate or Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, work independently, learn about all components of contract implementation, and find ways to improve efficiencies with accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance required.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant, and equitable approach to employment compensation. The anticipated pay range for this position is $68,000 to $75,000 USD.
