We are seeking a full-time Quality Auditor in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and performing internal quality system audits, report findings, observations, and issue Audit Reports in support of the Garmin audit programs.
Essential Functions
Provide Export Airworthiness Certificates for eligible products and materials as an FAA ODA/UM
Provide conformity inspections on behalf of the FAA as a designee
Ensure our FAA Approved Quality System continues to meet the requirements of the FAA Manufacturing Inspection District Office (MIDO) through continuous improvement
Team with Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Repair, Product Support, and Quality Assurance to identify failures and seek Root Cause Corrective Action to minimize process and product variation and eliminate failure mechanisms
Perform quality system and product audits, and document audit activities with audit team members
Review audit results, create audit reports, and ensure audit record integrity in accordance with audit program requirements
Maintain confidentiality of product and process specifications, performance analysis, and any identified discrepancies
Use caution and appropriate presence while auditing to provide for: operator safety, product and process integrity, and minimum process interference
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must possess a minimum of 3 years experience in an FAA approved electronics manufacturing environment with demonstrated knowledge or experience in: First Article, in-process, and final assembly inspections, quality provisions of special processes, manufacturing processes, airworthiness assurance, testing procedures, use of FAA-type design data, configuration control methodology
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Suite
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency in developing, implementing, and following formal procedures or work instructions
Must possess current or recent experience as ODA/UM, DMIR, Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or meet the FAA requirements for same
Demonstrated affiliation with the aviation industry as indicated by education, avocation, or work history
Demonstrated proficient knowledge in reading and interpreting the FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations)
Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

FAA authorization to issue Air Worthiness Tags (Activity Codes 8 and 20)
Previous auditing experience or training
Working experience with ISO-9000 (International Quality Standard), QS-9000 (Quality System Requirements), TQM (Total Quality Management), Quality Circles, or other improvement programs
