Outside Feed and Animal Products Sales

A Land O'Lakes member-owner cooperative is adding an Outside Feed and Animal Products Salesperson .

The Outside Feed & Animal Products Sales Team Member is responsible for assisting stores, facilities, managers and Cooperative management with the overall sales and profitability of feed and animal product sales. Also, assist with promotion of other areas of the Cooperative including agronomy and petroleum products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

• Work with retail sales representative in meeting patrons' needs.

• Assist Coop Management in promoting the value of the Cooperative by maintaining a favorable image within the community.

• Must possess knowledge and experience in the area of products marketed and sold by the Coop and take training classes that will enhance skills.

• Assist the Store Managers with the overall feed and livestock sales and operations.

• Make regular farm sales calls to patrons and promote Farmers Coop products and services;

• Work with management in forming marketing strategies, pricing of products and programs for patrons.

• Assist with inventory of products to ensure appropriate product are in stock for the level of anticipated business and that the quality and pricing of the inventory is appropriate to allow the company to meet its' desired margins.

• Must operate forklift and other heavy equipment with proper training.

• Will work in other areas of operations as required.

• Responsibly for providing weekly report of activities to Coop Management.

• Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements

• Regular and sustained attendance.

• Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned by the Complex Manager and Coop Management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Agricultural or Ag related field from a four-year university desirable. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
