We have a need for a Logistics Database Specialist to support equipment organization, documentation, tracking, scheduling, procurement, usage analysis, repair, and billing for the Tetra Tech CES rental equipment pool. The work location is anticipated to be a combination of on-site warehouse work and telecommuting with a primary office location in the Tetra Tech Bothell, WA office.

Tetra Tech has a large inventory of environmental monitoring, surveying, and transportation equipment located in offices throughout the US. The equipment is managed as a nationwide equipment pool and includes marine geophysical, hydrographic, geotechnical, acoustic, oceanographic and wildlife survey instrumentation, and field sampling equipment. Other assets include a fleet of 18 boats, numerous vehicles and trailers, IT equipment and software.

Responsibilities:

The Logistics Database Specialist will have the following responsibilities:


  • Manage the initial database implementation and build out of the Asset Panda software that is tailored to our specific equipment rental needs which includes working with our corporate IT department to include API-based billing linked to the company's Oracle accounting system.
  • Plan, configure, and integrate asset management software, Asset Panda, to manage rental operations including the inventory database, asset location, scheduling, user accounts, actions, audits, and reporting.
  • Incorporate barcode, RFID tracking, warehouse and equipment location tags and smartphone applications for mobile inventory tracking.
  • Work with the corporate legacy Oracle system to provide data exchange with Asset Panda API, More4Apps, Oracle I/O tools and automate database reports in both systems.
  • Be the subject matter expert on inventory database and management system methods and tools and provide recommendations to implement a robust, functional, equipment rental system.
  • Coordinate with all CES offices to inventory and document equipment in each office, populate the inventory database and work with local users to manage their rental equipment.
  • Train users, oversee data input and adapt the software as necessary to tailor workflows.
  • Maintain and improve tracking system by working with users, managers, administrative staff.
  • Develop reporting templates to break down profit loss and usage by equipment type, office, project.
  • Develop functional workflows and field procedures for reporting equipment damage or loss and initiating repair or replacement in time-effective manner.
  • Integrate check-in and check-out procedures and workflows into simultaneous inventory, packing list, shipping documentation and rental agreements.
  • Analyze inventory, usage, scheduling, and supply levels to anticipate inventory shortages and recommend asset purchases or retirement.
  • Maintain the inventory database for all relevant equipment and vehicle tracking including documentation, insurance, maintenance records, titles, mileage, and usage.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor or associate degree in computer science, business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or Information Technology.
  • Minimum of two years' experience setting up and maintaining an inventory database system. Ideally direct experience with Asset Panda cloud-based software.
  • Self-Motivated with planning, organization, and data management skills
  • Proven experience with database configuration and operations. basic business computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state law.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
