Job Description:

Job Purpose: The Associate Vice President of Information Technology will lead the application services team, overseeing application support, development, and implementation. The Associate Vice President will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Information Services to ensure the execution of the IS strategic plan and reliable delivery of Information Services to the Organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Managed SaaS provided services and vendor management for clinical, operations and business applications.
Manages onshore and offshore software development
Manages software life cycle management
Manages Technical project management & project intake process, and resource management
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff in the department
Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of Application Services team
Maximize staff performance and technical expertise through clearly defined objectives, training, and skill development

Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for the reliable and secure operation of all clinical, operational, and business applications.
Ensures the continuous reliable, secure operation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Gathers ongoing feedback from providers and stakeholders through regular rounding to incorporate improvements into the EHR and related applications.
Works collaboratively with VP IT and AvanceCare management to develop and execute IT strategy.
Develops annual budget and ensures adherence to budget targets.
Establishes project schedules, monitors, and reports progress on projects, intervening when necessary to ensure projects are competed on-time and on-budget.
Identifies and manages performance metrics for application, vendor, and staff performance.
Ensures appropriate Application Services staffing levels.
Provide leadership, support, and direction for information systems through collaboration, education, and relationship building.
Function as a key member of the senior management team and as an advisor, a strategic partner, and leader to management on information technology matters.
Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems.
Identifies and recommends new technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience, Education and Licensure:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent training and experience required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting multiple complex enterprise applications, with significant leadership experience preferred.
Strongly prefer application support experience in a large primary care or acute care hospital environment.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and government regulations
Ability to write reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, clients, customers, and the public
Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in large groups
Ability to think logically in to troubleshoot, analyze situations, and make appropriate decisions
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Language Skills:
Ability to communicate well in writing and in person. Ability to read and interpret common medical, billing, and business terminology.
