About this Position

The global investment editorial thought leadership team within Investment, Product, and Retirement Content (IPRC) at T. Rowe Price is committed to the development and delivery of insights to support investments, sales, marketing, and client priorities. Our materials are developed for and used by multiple regions and market segments, serving institutional, intermediary, and retail investors. Investment thought leadership writers in IPRC work closely with the investment staff and the editorial team to generate a wide variety of content focused on our active management approach. Materials are used across multiple platforms, including web, e-newsletters, and social media. As we continually expand our fixed income products and global reach, we are seeking a thought leadership writer with strong editorial skills who can convey fixed income insights creatively.

Role Summary

Our writers are expected to be versatile storytellers, able to generate compelling written narratives, economical video scripts, and inviting social media outputs. Above all, we require the lead writers in the thought leadership team to possess a high degree of investment knowledge, deep experience in conveying complex ideas to multiple audiences, and a resourceful mindset. The Lead Writer, Fixed Income, Thought Leadership, will work with the Fixed Income Division, including leadership, portfolio managers, and analysts in generating investment content. Key areas of focus include the development of insights and visualization components that inform clients and prospects about our perspectives on fixed income and alternatives strategies, and our views on capital markets developments.

Responsibilities


  • Work with fixed income investment staff and IPRC thought leadership manager to generate regular cadence of insights in written narratives and video format.

  • Investment perspectives intended to support diverse fixed income capabilities and wide range of strategies and solutions.

  • Support fixed income leadership in the development of timely insights on global macro and investment thematic content for video, written narratives, and social media.

  • Produce written materials that reflect the relevant and differentiated views of portfolio management across multiple sectors and alternatives strategies.

  • Work with analysts and researchers to generate performance-based studies that illustrate the value-add proposition and perspective of our approach to active management.

  • Write and script materials on timely capital markets issues that impact investors.

  • Partner and consult with thought leadership and production staff to develop compelling visualization elements, including infographics.

  • Liaise effectively with internal partners, including compliance, marketing, investment management, and thought leadership managers.

  • Attend a variety of fixed income strategy and policy sessions, and other relevant content coordination meetings with distribution.

  • Proactively generate content ideas, working with principals.  

  • Knowledge of competitive fixed income landscape.

Typical Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND

  • 8+ years of total relevant work experience


  • Mastery of fixed income capabilities and strategies, including portfolio construction

  • Experience writing about capital markets

  • Ability to write about complex concepts in an engaging style

  • Ability to perform basic quantitative analysis

  • Demonstrated writing versatility

  • Understanding of global fixed income markets

Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, finance, or economics

  • High-quality, experienced writer/editor, capital markets.

  • Deadline driven

  • Project management experience

  • Experience building strong relationships with subject matter experts, compliance, and other internal partners, including marketing and sales

  • Experience writing/editing for asset management firm or within financial services
