The Center for the Advancement of Data and Research in Economics (CADRE) at the
Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is recruiting for the position of a Python Support Intern.
CADRE provides technology and information management support for innovative research on
monetary policy and macroeconomics. For the summer of 2023, we are offering a remote
paid technology internship for undergraduate or masters students. The Python Support Intern
will support several key projects that will provide career training opportunities in scientific
numerical computing, operations and compliance, and automated data manipulation.

Key Project(s):

• Responsible for creating Python training examples (eg: Dask, OpenMP, MPI)

• Custom modules for configuration management.

• Data export and manipulation for supporting a research PostgreSQL environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to dive deeper into Python technology using cutting edge technologies that are increasingly in demand by computationally intensive employers. Applicants must be continuing undergraduate or graduate students able to work full time for at least 8 weeks during the summer of 2023. Applicants should also meet the requirements below.

Required Education and Skills:

• Python course/experience with a programming focus

• Attention to details and strong organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently

• Excellent communication skills

• Strong academic record with a minimum of two years of undergraduate education preferred
