Job Overview:



The Sales Manager will provide leadership, plans, strategies, and actions to ensure growth of new unit and aftermarket and new equipment orders and build a strong pipeline of future deals. The Sales Manager will participate in customer meetings and closely work with the commercial managers and account managers negotiating deals.



 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



The Sales Manager will be responsible for the following:




  • Sell and promote reciprocating products in the territory overseeing a team of Sales Managers, Engineers and Office Administration and working with a network of independent agents as required


  • Actively participate in formulating marketing policy (e.g. pricing, terms and conditions, product development, promotions, incentive programs)

  • Manage opportunities, installation lists, customer contacts, etc. in the company's CRM system


  • Communicate and coordinate activities with Product, Aftermarket and Finance Departments as well as other members of sales department


  • Oversee the selection, administration and motivation of sales team and independent agents in the territory


  • Set sales goals and evaluate performance. Conduct annual review of Team members and distributor performance


  • Support strategically customer credit and collection issues


  • Travel in the territory as required researching and accomplishing sales goals


  • Participate in annual sales goal setting, as well as sales budget planning. Establish territorial action plans


  • Collect monthly sales activity report and short-term order forecast


  • Report on market changes, customer and industry needs


  • Keep abreast of competitor activities and report on findings


  • Manage relationships with existing customers and constantly develop prospective clients


  • Other duties as assigned


  • Travel ~60+% of the time with account managers and to customer locations

  • Work from office location the remainder of the time. 



 



Required Qualifications:




  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred


  • Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 7 years of experience in Sales


  • Minimum 7 years of Oil & Gas Industry experience with a focus in sales origination


  • Knowledge of combustion, emissions and performance standards of reciprocating engines


  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers


  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills


  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
