The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,000-166,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

This is What You Will Do in this Role:


  • Develops a team of engineers on complex material handling systems to meet and exceed technical, schedule, scope, and budget targets.

  • Develops and leads a team of engineers with the electrical physical layouts development and ensures the team thoroughly checks the CAD drawings for accuracy.

  • Oversees and owns the hardware design and development of electrical schematics.

  • Checks the CAD schematic drawings and bill of materials for accuracy.

  • Develops a team of engineers to develop complex PLC programs using standard library of PLC code instructions where applicable.

  • Oversees a team of engineers to perform emulation testing in the lab of completed PLC programs against a 3D model of complex subsystems.

  • Identifies and solves areas of concern in the design of the complex controls system and successfully communicates to the project team and management.

  • Leads the commissioning and testing of material handling systems and manages staffing plan and tracking progress to a schedule.

  • Mentors, trains, and develops other engineers in performing controls engineering duties.

  • Trains and mentors new engineering leads and directs the entire scope and schedule of large complex projects and determines staffing plans needed to execute the project to meet customer expectation and specifications within budget and on schedule.

  • Communicates effectively with team and management by submitting weekly status reports that accurately reflect current state of the project, project concerns, staffing plans, and spend vs. budget.

  • Develops new code for complex custom areas where needed.

  • Acts as Customer Interface for large complex projects and for technical communications across Program.

  • Gives direction and ideas to engineering management on areas of focus for future success, future risks to mitigate, and current risks to mitigate.


What We are Looking For:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and five years of experience as a Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer or closely related occupation.

  • Also requires five years of experience with the following technologies, skills, and environments: Rockwell Logix PLC Controls Platforms; MVTec Halcon 11/12 (Vision Systems); C-Programming (C and C++ compilers); Python; AutoCAD Electrical; FPGA Programming in VHDL; SolidWorks; material handling systems; testing and commissioning electrical and software aspects of conveyor systems; ethernet network design and troubleshooting; control cabinet design; Profibus Communications; ASi network design, configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning; and forecasting and tracking project budgets using SAP. Pre-employment processing for this position requires drug testing and passing background checks.
