Job Summary:
Responsible for cleaning of facility including offices, Main Office Building, various departments, restrooms, break areas, grounds areas and other areas as assigned. Requires operation of machinery, forklifts, sweepers, scrubbers etc. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and proper safety procedures while performing all duties. Adhere to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality All positions at Blue Diamond Growers operate following the same 5 objectives; First safety, quality, service, performance and people. Ability to work non-traditional work weeks, hours and shifts required i.e. Tuesday thru Sunday.

Job Description:

Follows established schedules and standard operating procedures for cleaning and/or sanitizing of assigned areas such as restrooms, offices, break areas, warehouse/production floors and production equipment using the proper chemicals, equipment and various cleaning tools such as but is not limited to vacuums, brooms, mops, steam cleaners, air hose, rakes, sweeper, floor scrubber, etc. to accomplish assigned tasks.

Required to operate machinery and equipment such as floor scrubbers, forklifts, golf carts and sweepers to properly clean various interior and exterior areas throughout the facility per established standard operating procedures.

Required to follow, maintain and improve standard work practices.

Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and established Safety Practices.

Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Supervisor.

POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level and Focus:

High School Diploma for basic education.

Years and Type of Related Experience Required:

Previous experience in cleaning and sanitizing using chemicals and cleaning equipment.

Skills and Abilities

Forklift certified

Interpersonal and Communication:

Must have good communication skills and the ability to work with others within the sanitation department.

Technical and Analytical:

Must have the ability to read to follow directions to follow directions for standard cleaning procedures and for mixing chemicals. Work consists of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making. Must meet output standards and meet schedules and deadlines as assigned. Strong attention to detail is required to perform this position.

Administration and Operations:

Must understand Blue Diamond Growers HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices.

Physical Demands:

See Essential Functions Checklist. Ability to climb ladders and cross high catwalks. Be able to walk plant areas. Overtime as necessary is a requirement to the performance of this position.

Work Environment:

Depending on cleaning procedures, can be wet and/or steamy work conditions. Works in a variety of areas both inside and outside where weather conditions can vary. Cleaning in some areas will be very dusty (almond dust).

Special Equipment Used:

Hazardous chemicals, steam cleaner, sweeper, fire hose, harness & hoist, vacuums, air hose, vacuum, golf cart, sweeper/scrubber units, forklift.
