The Principal Business Systems Analyst, Financial Planning is responsible for supporting and enhancing the financial planning and data management/mapping functionality of the global Oracle Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (EPBCS) and Apptio IT Financial Management (ITFM) applications. Serves as techno-functional lead and subject matter expert for the financial planning and data management/mapping functionality of the global Oracle EPBCS and Apptio ITFM systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities


  • Capture business requirements, Develop techno-functional specifications, Prepare for and execute testing

  • Manage incidents, changes, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, performance tuning, and configuring/developing the financial planning systems.  

  • Supports the month-end close (management reporting and projections), master data refresh, and annual operating plan / budget processes

  • Leads assignments, projects, solutions and/or processes of medium to high complexity.  May include leading project/virtual teams of both employee and non-employee resources.

  • Continuously identifies and pursues opportunities to improve systems in terms of reliability, usability, and performance

  • Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected

  • Knowlege of ITSM, PMLC and SDLC concepts

Education/Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field with 7+ years of professional experience, OR Bachelor and Master's degree with 6+ years of  related professional experience

  • 4+ years of experience working with Hyperion

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and developing solutions for Hyperion Planning and Essbase 11.1.2.x applications 

  • 3+ years of experience utilizing formal ITSM and SDLC processes and tools to manage service requests, incidents, problems, and changes 

  • 2+ years of experience utilizing formal PMLC processes to deliver projects 

  • 1+ year of experience supporting and developing solutions for Oracle EPBCS

  • Experience supporting and developing solutions for Hyperion Planning and Essbase 11.1.2.x applications and Oracle EPBCS

  • Experience preparing techno-functional design documentation

  • Experience preparing and executing test scripts 

  • Experience integrating applications and data

  • Technical Hyperion or Oracle EPM Cloud certifications preferred

  • Experience supporting or using Apptio ITFM preferred
