Job Description:

Milacron is looking for a Sr. Director of Global Supply Management to join our team in Cincinnati, OH . The Sr. Director of Global Supply Management is a key strategic partner to the Milacron Injection Molding & Extrusion Leadership Team and the Global Supply Chain functional team. This individual must have the right mindset to enable collaboration, achieve breakthrough performance, and ensure that all work is linked to the business outcomes, such as growth and return on capital. The role will lead a sourcing team that will strategically manage $500M-$1B of spend.

What you'll do:


  • Provide leadership to strategic sourcing team that focuses on value to internal and external customers by formally managing the supplier relationships
  • Accountable to ensure sourcing strategies are created and executed in alignment with the business goals
  • Create a service performance culture that is agile and flexible
  • Key performance indicators (but not limited to): Productivity, Working Capital, Synergy, Delivery | Fill Rate, Quality, Sustainability, New Product Development and Innovation
  • Direct and lead initiatives to improve demand management, policy guidance, and pricing activities supporting our Hillenbrand Improvement Operating Model (HOM)
  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities related to the procurement function
  • Develops metrics and measures of purchasing performance. Regularly reports against metrics with action plans for continuous improvements
  • Establish strong and effective relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets are met
  • Partner with suppliers on innovations to drive value for the business and ensure that we are not disrupted in the marketplace
  • Partner with business New Product Development and Business Innovation teams to support supplier selection, development, and launch
  • Leverage big data and data science to discover patterns and solve strategic & tactical business problems using massive structured and unstructured data sets across multiple environments
  • Leverage analytic tools to identify new opportunities and better outcomes for the both the business and customer, help define new "ways of working"
  • Build and develop agile, high performing, scalable team
  • Provide coaching, development, training, and career planning to team
  • Guide team of Global Supply Category Managers to conduct quote, negotiate with suppliers, award business (with business consensus), and supplier relationship management
  • Coordinate with GSM leaders to define and implement corporate policies and initiatives such as but not limited to supplier diversity, supplier risk, data management, etc.
  • Lead, project manage, and support supplier footprint optimization - transitioning supply between regions to de-risk, dual source, and leverage competitiveness of best cost country
  • Provide support and leadership to ensure global sourcing synergy projects (as applicable) are identified and executed
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategy to create and implement a world class supply base that meets the criteria as defined by the corporate GSM team. Criteria include the following: 6sigma quality, 100% on-time delivery, support inventory programs, offer quick lead times, competitive cost, collaboration on innovation, and conformity to our payment terms
  • Ensure that product costing and sourcing decisions are based upon the total cost of sourced items (Total Cost of Ownership - TCO) for example: currency exchange, freight, non-value added activities, and consideration for localized or imported sourcing
  • Maintain broad knowledge of worldwide market trends on relevant commodities
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Logistics, etc) across the company to drive success
  • Effectively engage as an executive member of the GSM and Milacron staffs
Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred

  • At least 5+ years of specific experience in Supply Chain and TCO. Strong sourcing, supply management, procurement, and negotiation skills necessary.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.


Great to Haves:

  • Manufacturing process knowledge and project management preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in Working Capital (inventory, terms) and Leadtime initiatives, as well as inventory management.

  • International experience desirable.

  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Effective leadership and facilitation demonstrated.

  • Makes and meets commitments.
