Responsibilities:
Responsible for Health Information Management (HIM) Department operations, management of HIM staff, providing guidance, direction, and support to the team.HIM table maintenance including but not limited to deficiency and document types.Monitors health information management systems and sets the healthcare systems standards for data quality and ethical practice. Participates in the development of health information management policies and procedures on release of information, confidentiality, information security, information storage and retrieval and record retention.Work with providers to improve quality of documentation.Monitoring provider deficiencies and reporting to improve record completion timelinessEstablish and maintain professional relationships with providers and clinical leaders/staff.Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and standards related to privacy, security, and record completionMonitors and manages the daily medical record billing file to monitor the discharged not final billed accounts (DNFB).Works collaboratively with all teams in the revenue cycle including our business partners to include but not limited to Release of Information Business Partner and Coding Business Partner.Establish standard operating proceduresMust be capable of performing the tasks required of hourly employeesMonitors and manages transcription processes and onboards new providers.
Manages and monitors the department Quality Assurance Program Initiative.Lead weekly staff meetings to track progress toward work plan activities and tasks.
Supports Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Officer projects as needed and participate at Corporate Compliance Meeting as needed.Member of the ESH Forms Committee.
