Material Demand Analyst/Expeditor at TDK-Lambda Americas Inc

Job Description:

Responsible for day-to-day management of existing Purchase and Sales Orders dates in the ERP system, ensuring timely shipment of product, resolving issues and identifying potential problems that could impact customer service. Analyzing shipment and inventory levels to determine forecast and purchase strategy. Establish and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external contacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Adjusts Sales Order dates to align with supply while following company scheduling rules.

  • Expedite, co-ordinate and confirm shipping schedules with suppliers for escalated orders.

  • Manage requests for advance purchases and risk buys, work with Inside Sales to match incoming orders to the advance purchase or inventory is protected for specific customers.

  • Manage safety stock levels by performing analysis to set appropriate levels.

  • Analyze historic demand patterns to create forecasts and set ordering parameters.

  • Perform material planning and ordering activities for finished goods item.

  • Provide inventory, usage, shipment and projection reports to management.

  • Track, analyze and adjust activities to meet department KPIs.

  • Coordinate with multiple departments when special handling is required.

  • Potential travel, domestically and internationally - less than 10%.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MATERIAL DEMAND ANALYST/EXPEDITOR



  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or similarly focused major preferred; or 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in an ERP system environment. 



  • Advanced computer skills including Windows, Internet Browsers, MS Outlook (or other email), and the aptitude to learn new software programs quickly.

  • Understanding of ERP systems, supply and demand, and material flow from factory to customer.

  • Understanding of logistics with regards to shipping of product.

  • Understanding of fundamental supply chain concepts: procurement/purchasing, material planning, forecasting and replenishment, inventory management, distribution.

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills - attention to detail is a must.

  • Successful multi-tasking/priority management skills. Work well under pressure while juggling many responsibilities and meeting stringent deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication (listening, written & verbal) skills.

  • Comfortable being assertive when appropriate.

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Flexibility/Open to new ideas and change.

  • Superior stress management skills, ability to handle difficult/stressful situations while maintaining professional composure and judgment.

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and ability to work with minimal supervision. 

SALARY RANGE

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $68,000 and $72,000 for San Diego. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
